Original pressing of the legendary first Pistols album of Ultra-rare demos, circa 1977.
This album comes without cover as they had ran out of covers and many were sold without it.
This the real original McCoy, Not bootleg bootlegs.
Spunk is a bootleg demo album by the English punk rock band The Sex Pistols. It was originally released in the United Kingdom during September or October 1977.
The album comprises studio demos and talking recorded with Dave Goodman during 1976 and early 1977, while original bass player Glen Matlock was still a member of the band. Most of the songs would later be re-recorded and officially released on the group's album, Never Mind the Bollocks, Here's the Sex Pistols.
I have had this vinyl album since I took over the Psychotronic Video store in 1991 in the basement of 3a Buck Street Camden Town, London, beneath the Vinyl Experience Record Store, the Basement was divided into 3 with me, Mick and John from Out on the Floor, and Barmy Bernard (RIP), I was given a few copies of this album, by a customer Derek (who knew I was a Pistols fan), who may or may not have been responsible (along with Nick from Compendium Books) for getting Spunk onto the streets. They certainly got raided a couple of times in the 70's and only narrowly escaped arrest due to a search warrent having tomorrows date on it! To the best of knowledge this is an original 1977 press of the very rare and sought after first Sex Pistols album. It is in unplayed Near Mint to Mint condition. Condition; Unplayed, no sleeve cover. RECORD IS GRADED NEAR MINT.

This is the infamous Spunk bootleg released just before the Never Mind The Bollocks LP, "initially released without a sleeve in a rush to beat 'Never Mind The Bollocks' to the shops." (Gavin Walsh: "God Save The Sex Pistols - A Collector's Guide To The Priests Of Punk", Plexus 2003, page 102)

A1-5 are demos recorded by Dave Goodman in July 1976
A6 is the rejected Dave Goodman produced version of the band's debut single Anarchy In The U.K., recorded in October 1976
B1-6 are demos recorded by Dave Goodman in January 1977
Most songs are mistitled on sleeve and labels:
A2 as "Satelite"
A3 as "Feelings"
A4 as "Just Me"
A6 as "Nookie"
B1 as "No Future" (which was the original title at the time of recording)
B3 as "Lots Of Fun"
B5 as "Who Was It"
B6 as "New York (Looking For A Kiss)"
Original copies can be identified by the matrix numbers engraved in the runout.
Be aware that some people are reporting that original first pressings actually have the 'A' side matrix LYN 4732-14, rather than LYN 4732-111, however upon very close high magnification inspection of some of those pressings that seem to show 14 rather than 111, the number 14 is in fact the number 111. The number 111 just appears to look like a number 14 due to the way it is etched.
