Hello there, and thankyoufor viewing my item!
Having had rather a lengthy hiatus, I'm back to sell more of my collection/ 2nd copies/ records I think might be of interest to others. In previous years I've sold very rare PROG, 60s, PUNK etc, ranging from cheap record right up to £1000 records, and have invariably got good feedback. However, having been away from selling for so long I realise I need to build up current positive feedback again, hence I'm listing many items at buy it now prices, please check out my current, and coming here at my other items! Here we have a really great copy of this very rare, almost mythical mispressing of the UK 1979 Virgin (VS 240) release of THE SEX PISTOLS' Something Else b/w Friggin' In The Riggin', and whilst all the matrices and stampers are correct, for some still unexplained reason, a factory mistake pressed the Great Rock 'N' Roll Swindle LP version of Silly Thing on the A-side.No decent explination has been offered for this, as that version of the track (whilst in my opinion stronger than the 7" recording of the same song) wasn't it's self ever destined for 7" release. There are no giveaways to this being a mispress, other than by listening! So if you were after a 7" with the LP version of Silly Thing on it, this copy, or one of the other 11 or so copies that have been identified since pressing, are your only way of acquiring it! (My scanner is a little scratched,hence I usually try and keep the playing surface of a record off scans, please ignore any marks on the playing surfaces, that you may be able to make out on the first four pictures, these will be my scratched scanner screen! Excuses over!)
LABELS: EX+, This is a very well preserved copy, No fading/ no staining/ no writing/ no spindle marks no matter how feint! Very slight factory wrinkling around the central spindle-hole, absolutely nothing to do with playing. Really vibrant colours! Superb!
VINYL: EX-,In normal good light, just two very light surface marks visible on the A-side (I've tried to catch them in the 7th photo,but they really are very light, and therefore hard to catch in a photo!) and only visible when angled into strong, direct halogen light, a few more light surface marks are visible. Superb audio.
SLEEVE: VG+ Really nice, light edge/corner wear and opening mouth edge rub, evidence of light handling, but all-in-all a very decent sleeve! (Same as the standard releases sleeve so easy to upgrade too)
