THE SFINX'S "Peace" b/w "I Cry For You"
Original 1971 45 on the Belgian FLORA label

RARE and still pretty unknown Belgian CORKER of a garage fuzz punker here from 1971 by the Sfinx's. "Peace" SOUNDS like it comes from 1966 and woulda found a place among a PEBBLES or NUGGETS comp shoulder to shoulder with the Electric Prunes and the Standells is more like it, a KILLER fuzz-fueled stutterstep garage punk POUNDER all the way, with its main guitar riff echoed by the organ. Not sure why the singer waits until the last 10 seconds of the song to mention the dance steps, but I'd guess just thrashing around in place is the only way to "dance" to this punker anyways. Flipside proves they mighta only had this ONE monster in 'em.
