Description
An excellent example of the very first paper label USA cassette release in 1968 of "Sgt Pepper" by The Beatles. This Capitol cassette was one of the first three Beatles albums - three of the first 25 cassettes issued by Capitol in 1968. As denoted on the foldover. The other two Beatles albums released at the same time were Rubber Soul and Revolver. The other identifying features are the white paper labels (in the printed format shown) and the large window to the shell. Complete with excellent condition, original Norelco case. Scarcity Index (SI) = 7 on a scale 1 to10. White paper labels referring to "programs".
Has been little used, as shown by its excellent condition and a clean, tape head backing felt pad. Plays perfectly. Unmolested clean and tear free.
This is the USA Capitol equivalent/counterpart to the highly rare UK EMI "Sgt Pepper" dark green paper labelled, old Parlophone logo'd, 1968 cassette release. Capitol was EMI's American subsidiary company who marketed Beatles cassettes. Cassettes were very rare on the market in 1968 - it was only in 1972 that they became popularly accepted.
