Shack's third album, H.M.S. Fable, stands as a shining jewel from Merseyside, originally released in 1999. Following Zilch (1988) and Waterpistol (1995), this record captures the masterful songwriting and storytelling of brothers Michael and John Head. This album is often cited and celebrated for its rich guitar-driven sound and evocative lyrics. Now, for the first time, it's being pressed on vinyl, in a light blue edition to mark its 25th anniversary. This special release, available exclusively through physical retailers, features 12 tracks including the standout single 'Comedy'. The album brought Shack back into the spotlight after being largely forgotten since their brief reemergence in 1995. Its melodies, combined with Michael Head's raw yet angelic voice, craft a brilliant mix of pop and balladry. Often compared to the Lightning Seeds and even Oasis (who seemingly borrowed from Shack's playbook), H.M.S. Fable offers a unique take on classic British guitar pop. This edition also includes a booklet helping to make it a very appealing addition to anyone's collection.
