Shadows of Knight 45 

The Shadows of Knight were an American rock band from Chicago, Illinois, that played a version of British blues influenced by their native city.

The Shadows of Knight saw regional success with a cover of Them's 1964 single "Gloria", which peaked at number 10 on the Billboard Hot 100 chart in the spring of 1966. In 1972, Lenny Kaye coined the term "garage punk" on the track-by-track liner notes for the Nuggets compilation, describing the Shadows of Knight's follow-up single "Oh Yeah", which opens side two of the anthology, as "classic garage punk".

When they began recording in 1965, the band's self-description was "the Stones, Animals and the Yardbirds took the Chicago blues and gave it an English interpretation. We've taken the English version of the Blues and re-added a Chicago touch," to which rock critic Richie Unterberger commented: "The Shadows of Knight's self-description was fairly accurate." Courtesy: Wikipedia

GRADING: primarily grade my records visually, based on the Goldsmith rating system of Mint, Near Mint, Very Good Plus, Very Good, Good, and Poor. Questionable marks and scratches are usually tested on a turntable and noted in the listing. I try to err on the conservative side in my grading; but since it is not an exact science, there are bound to be differing opinions as to what constitutes a certain grade. Suffice it to say that I strive to be as honest as possible in my listings, as I plan on selling records, etc. for the long haul and I am not interested in ripping anyone off. RECORD GRADING:

NM (Near Mint): Like new, looks unplayed.

VG++: A few very faint surface marks, nothing that will affect play

VG+: A few more marks than a VG++. Used but not abused.

VG: Light scuffs and light scratches, there will be light surface wear to the record. Expect some light surface noise in parts or a few clicks or pops here and there.

VG-: The record may have some scratches that will be deep enough to feel. Audible clicks and pops may be consistently present, but no skips.

G: A record that has been played and not taken care of. Constant background noise will be present. Buyer should view records with this grade as filler copies.

SHIPPING: U.S. purchases will be shipped via Media Mail, unless another method is requested by the buyer. Canadian purchases will be using lowest rate, unless a different method is requested. MULTIPLE PURCHASES WILL RECEIVE SHIPPING DISCOUNT! Please make note of normal shipping time frames for delivery, and refrain from contacting seller during this period.
