Considered one of the greatest cellists of the 20th century, celebrated Russian virtuoso Daniel Shafran (1923-90) performs two gorgeous cello sonatas recorded several weeks after his American debut at Carnegie Hall. Superb RCA sound recording & one of the most sought after cello recordings!
Play graded. Side 1, Shostakovich Cello Sonata is in NEAR MINT- condition with a couple of light marks that do not sound. Side 2-Schubert “Arpeggione” is VG++ due to a mark at the very end of the music that ticks 23 times otherwise Side 2 plays NM. Jacket is in VG++ condition due to wear to top & bottom spines & some rubbing to bottom front of jacket. All in all this is a very decent copy of a scarce & beautiful cello recording.
