Description

Award to Greensleeves artwork designer

 

This is a genuine Gold Award issued by Greensleeves for 100,000 sales in the UK of the single ‘Oh Carolina’.  It was presented in 1993 to Tony McDermott, who designed many of the record covers for Greensleeves.  The award is in a gold metal frame measuring 16x16 inches (40x40cms).  There is a very small mark on the right-hand edge of the red matte, but otherwise it’s in very nice condition.  The plaque mounted on the award reads:

This award was produced by Framous, the official BPI (British Phonographic Industry) award manufacturer.  These awards were only presented within the music industry, and should not be confused with any kind of replica or ‘limited edition’ discs that are sold direct to the public.   

 

A unique piece of Shaggy/Greensleeves memorabilia.
