Probably the rarest Country Blues record I'll be offering this year, here is FLOSSIE BROWN (a.k.a. MAE GLOVER) in her world-beating performances of "SHAKE IT DADDY" and "I AIN'T GIVIN' NOBODY NONE." A powerful singer, she's accompanied by some of the best blues guitar I've ever heard.
A Richmond, Indiana recording, this "Electrograph" Champion 15814 is improbably in E condition. The only flaw is a two-and-a-half inch crack, which is repaired so exquisitely (by Jim Cooprider), that it is almost inaudible. The Gennett electrical recording is so robust that it sweeps away any annoying noises. I am amazed a record like this could have survived in such fine shape.

These records come from my private collection, which I have been accumulating since 1967, and now am downsizing! I always post at least four clear images, showing the record fore and aft, a close-up of the label, and the whole disc, warts and all. If my purple prose won’t cut it, the pictures will!
