Shawnigan Lake School Jazz Orchestra and Jazz Quartet-Omnibus, Private Press, EPN 7265, Mid-to-Late 1970s.
Rare Canadian-only private press school band LP. The Jazz Quartet (Side Two, Jazz Orchestra is Side One featuring “Movin’ Out,” a lovely 1970s style funk) is killer. Guitar, Vibes, Bass, and Drums. “It Happens Every Day” (Crusaders/Joe Sample cover) could loop forever in my mind (and I’d be ok w/ that), “Clifford’s Thing,” Quiet Nights Of Quiet Stars,” “Green Dolphin Street,” “Free As The Wind” (a second Crusaders/Joe Sample cover). May perk the ears of Sunrise Ltd. fans. Off-the-grid. Ultimate recommendation.
