Description

THE SHEFFIELD DRUM RECORD –
Sheffield Direct-to-Disc Lab14 –
Recommended by TAS –
STUNNING!

It doesn’t get any better than this for an audiophile.

This is the Sheffield Drum Record, direct-cut, of two drummers improvising in a manner that will either have your hi-fi system singing or crying out loud.

Fact is, Bill Schnee and Lincoln Mayorga put drummers Jim Keltner and Ron Tutt in a studio, to record sessions during which both drummers would put a drum kit to the test.  And, let me tell you, as a result, for audio component testing and evaluation, there’s hardly a better record out there.

Whether you’re comparing pre-amps or simply moving a sub-woofer into your room, no piece of vinyl will give you a better sense of what’s right or wrong than this one.  Transients of this sort, coupled with bass frequencies of weight, rim shots, brushwork and the like, will tell you just what is going on in your listening room.

A splendid tool, and a wonderful record, here in fine shape: Cover without fault; record within – the original – will play near mint.

Has the original enclosure.

For other fine records, TAS picks and hard-to-finds, please see my complete list of offerings here on eBay.

Shipping and handling is $5 for up to 5 LPs shipped within the States. Internationally, $15 via airmail for the first LP, $3 each thereafter. (Canada is half that.) Boxes over 4 lbs., add another $6, because First Class is no longer available at that weight, just Priority Mail. Note, too, boxed sets of LPs require more postage.
