Sheffield Lab are the pioneers of Direct-To-Disc recording and had much to do with the advent of the "audiophile" label put on recordings that exemplify top standards in recording, mastering and pressing. Long out of print, these original Sheffields are considered to be some of the finest recordings ever produced.
This album was recorded with all tube electronics designed and built by Sheffield Lab. Produced by Lincoln Mayorga and Doug Sax. Engineered by Bill Schnee. Guitar was played by the legendary James Burton.
Condition: Nearly no wear on the front or back sleeve. Top left corner is a bit dull and there is shelf wear on the top. Insert protective packaging is like new. There are no spindle marks on the label. Vinyl is clean, shiny and plays like new.

Review: It was 1980 and she recorded direct-to-disc - no tape, no overdubs, no mixing, no fixing - for the prestigious vinyl audiophile label Sheffield Lab Recordings. GROWING UP IN HOLLYWOOD TOWN became an audiophile classic around the world and set a new standard for vinyl recording and hi fi stereo reproduction. Billboard called the LP a "stunning artistic success" and Amanda became "the queen of the high end" for the purity of her vocals and the emotional depth of her songs. Sheffield released a second McBroom direct-to-disc recording entitled WEST OF OZ in 1981.
