This is an exceedingly rare 12” vinyl record, privately printed and distributed by the band Shellac to their friends in an extremely limited edition of approximately 1,000 copies.

Issued in 1997, this LP has never been commercially available to the public.

The names of 779 friends of the band are printed in silver ink on the cover. Many are well known. This is one of the 779 “named” copies. The original recipient’s name has a box drawn around it in silver ink by the band. Thus each of the 779 copies is unique. Collect them all!

You’ll need to buy the record to discover which name is circled.

This is an instrumental record. There is no singing. The music is divided into ten movements. It is titled “The Futurist” and is also known as the “Friends” record.

Condition: Near Mint/Near Mint

The thick vinyl is FLAWLESS. There's not a single mark on either side. It comes in a poly sleeve.

The labels are pristine. There are absolutely NO spindle marks on either side! I honestly don't believe it has ever been played.

Jackets for this record are thin, mostly black, and have a matte finish, so they will show wear easily. This copy has NO WEAR. The corners are sharp. The spine is crisp. There is no edge wear. No ring wear. No scratches.

The record will be packed carefully in a sturdy cardboard custom LP mailer. The jacket (cover) will be in a plastic sleeve and I will ship the vinyl outside of the jacket to prevent any danger of seam splits. I will ship within one business day following receipt of payment.

Though I've never had such a problem arise, I cannot be held responsible for items lost or damaged by the various postal services.

I have described this record accurately. The copy you see in the photos is the copy you are bidding on. I will pack it well. So there is really no reason it should need to be returned. If upon receipt of the item the winning bidder feels that anything has been misrepresented, they should contact me immediately.
