SHELLY MANNE & HIS MEN AT THE BLACKHAWK VINYL VOLS. 1,2,3 &4 NEAR MINT NOT OJC
These four LPs on the Contemporary label are flawless--perfect labels, flawless vinyl. I've played each twice, so let's call them Near Mint to be sure. Covers are also Near Mint. These are not the original pressings, but they're not OJC reissues, either. These look like early 70s Stereo pressings. I'm only showing the cover of Vol.1, but there are four LPs. Personel includes Manne on drums, Richie Kamuca on tenor saxophone, Joe Gordon--trumpet, Victor Feldman--piano and Monty Budwig on bass. Kamuca really kicks major ass here; he was a very underrated cat! Feldman is pretty good, but Gordon isn't quite in Kamuca's league (west coasters like Carmell Jones, Conte Candoli and Dupree Bolton were vastly superior trumpeters). Anyway, the group stretches out quite a bit and Shelly is crisp and swinging, as usual.
Minimum bid is $19.99 (for the set of four). Because there are four albums here, shipping is $6.50, despite what eBay claims. Please e-mail me if you have any questions and thanks for looking!
