A must for the Shirley Collins, Dolly Collins, Fairport Convention and British Folk Rock, and British Early Music (David Munrow, Christopher Hogwood) collector, this is “Amaranth including the ‘Anthems in Eden’ Suite” on Harvest/EMI (UK). This is a re-issue of the “Anthems in Eden Suite” but includes a whole side of then newly recorded material (from 1976) that did not appear on the original recording. In addition to the 9 movement suite, the new tracks include: Fare Thee Well My Fairest, C’est la Fin pour Mon Cher, Bonny Kate, Adieu to Judges and Juries, Edi Beo Thu Hevene Quene, Black Joker/Black, White, Yellow and Green. In addition to Shirley and Dolly Collins, musicians include members of Fairport Convention, the Early Music Consort of London, the Academy of Ancient Music and others, such as Dave Mattacks, Simon Nicol, Ashley Hutchings, John Kirkpatrick, David Munrow, Christopher Hogwood, Alan Lumsden and others. Disc has some surface noise, with a grade of EX. Lovely Textured jacket has a sticker stain on the front, graded as EX.
