Description
The ORIGINAL, promo-only, 1980 pressing of the soundtrack to SHOGUN ASSASSIN.
The film was Robert Houston and David Weisman's re-editing/re-dubbing of Toho Studios' first two (of six) "Lone Wolf and Cub" movies (based on a long-running manga series).
The moody, Moog-y soundtrack was created by Mark Lindsay (original lead singer of Paul Revere and the Raiders) and W. Michael Lewis (of the disco-era producing team Rinder & Lewis and the AVI record label). It was recorded with a Moog Modular synthesizer system at Lindsay's Wonderland studio, and credited to "The Wonderland Philharmonic."
The LP also includes snippets from the original Japanese "Lone Wolf" soundtrack scores; in turn, it's the source of samples used in rapper GZA's album "Liquid Swords" (produced by RZA).
This is not one of the recent bootlegged re-pressings but the original, released only as a promo to the media.
Record is pristine and plays flawlessly. Very minor wear on the cover edges.
