SHRINK Mono THE BEACH BOYS Pet Sounds 1966 1st U.S. Pressing on CAPITOL T 2458 pressed at The Scranton Pennsylvania pressing plant as indicated by the "I AM" stamped in the runouts and a number 3 printed on back cover.
Beautiful copy of this iconic record with capitol rainbow labels indicating very first U.S release in the original shrink wrap and including the Capitol Records inner sleeve correct for the time period.
VINYL in VG+ condition with light scuffs/hairlines. Played all the way through on headphones, the beginning of Side 1 and last song at end of side 2 has a bit more crackle, still VG+ in my opinion, very light. I noticed a bit of groove wear at the end of side 1, nothing major, and probably not noticeable on speakers. Really nice thick and deep sound on this release. Previous owner's name written in black marker on both sides.
COVER in VG++ condition with original shrink wrap still present! The top right corner the shrink is starting to lift off, and a previous owner lifted a bit of the wrap to write their name n the back side (see photos). Tiny bit of wrap starting to come up on bottom seam in the middle with a tiny area starting to chip. Slight yellowing throughout. There's an indication of price sticker on front cover. Seams and spine in lovely shape.
INNER SLEEVE in VG condition. Creasing, seams split in the middle sections, top opening worn with small tears.

Pressing and label variation. Black Capitol labels with rainbow color band, oval Capitol logo centered at top of labels, track listing under the center hole on labels, and smaller 1.5 inch diameter pressing ring. Pressed by Capitol Records Scranton Pressing per machine stamped triangle with the initials 'IAM' in runouts.From label rim text: Mfg. By Capitol Records, Inc. U.S.A. T.M.
