SIBELIUS / GIBSON / L.S.O. - " SYMPHONY NO.5 IN E FLAT / KARELIA SUITE ", RCA Records Ltd (SB-2068) Stereo, 1960.

Very rare 1960, first UK Stereo pressing of the RCA LP with the all important Red, Grooved, Living Stereo label - see photo.

English issue and pressing (pressed by Decca).

Professionally cleaned on my Moth record cleaning machine and then put in a fresh new poly-lined inner sleeve (the original inner sleeve has also been retained and included in the auction - see photo)

In the name of a good auction, I will start this LP at just 99p!


CONDITION:

VINYL =  EXCELLENT  (No deep scratches, no groove damage, no distortion, only light spindle trails, etc. In normal daylight the vinyl appears perfectly clean, under a bright grading lamp I can make out a couple of very light paper scuffs and a couple of extremely faint hairline surface marks - although these are purely visual and during playback, none of these slight superficial flaws correspond directly to any audible defects.
On playback, there is some faint surface noise during the silent run-in (usually in the pressing) which disappears as soon as the music starts. It plays really well - strong, clean and without interuptions.
Not quite an untouched museum piece, but a good honest excellent copy for someone out there to play and enjoy as it was originally intended.

Note: for the purposes of this listing I have tested this LP on my Linn LP12 Sondek turntable - generally this is quite a critical test, but I must point out that I cannot guarantee exactly how this LP will sound on your turntable - common sense for most... but then this is ebay!!!)


SLEEVE = GOOD (Not destroyed but well worn. Suffering some wear, creases and delamination around the edges and the rear sleeve is a bit grubby with some lighter creases and some black biro writing on it - see photos for further clarification)
