SIGNED ELTON JOHN AND BAND!!
This is one of five Elton John records I have that is signed by most of the touring band of 1984. All five records were purchased at Brashs (original price stickers still attached) and I believe were then signed by Elton John, Bernie Taupin, drummer Nigel Olson (left the band end of '84), bass player Dee Murray (1980-84) and guitarist Davey Johnstone (1982 - present). Elton John played a world sell out tour in '84 and played 5 sold out performances at the Melbourne Sports and Entertainment centre in Feb and March of 1984 to mark the "Too low for zero" tour. The last of the five records I have is indeed Too low for zero. All are Australian pressings (some of course second pressings) sold at that point in time.
Famously Elton married Renate Blauel at St Marks in Darling Point Sydney on Valentine's Day - just before he played the Melbourne dates.
Signatures are in different pen (not sharpie and I don't think sharpies were around anyway in '84).
All five records I have are signed by the same people clearly at the same time given the sigs are so close in look from record to record. Likely someone queued up with a batch of records just purchased from Brashs and had them signed all at the same time. There is no certificate of authenticity but who had them back then? So with that said do your own homework and bid early and bid hard :)
