We mail all paid items ONE WEEK after auctions end. Our listings are time consuming in detail and we are often traveling to find these gems, which at times delays the delivery schedule by a day or two. We ALWAYS process and ship every paid order. We have no control over parcels once they are mailed from our local Post Office. Overseas mail to some countries (Italy, Russia, France, in particular) has become very slow. Opening a dispute for slow mail is unacceptable. We work hard to provide excellent service as is represented by our
well over 20,000 positive feedback. We use an ultrasonic KLAudio machine and thoroughly clean all records. Each order is carefully packaged by removing the LP from the jacket to avoid seam splits, use of 3 ml plastic cover sleeves over each LP and jacket, cardboard pad inserts, and placed in sturdy record mailers for safe delivery. We take Customer Service seriously, and want you to be satisfied. Original 1970 first pressing of the thrilling first album by Wishbone Ash in thick gatefold cover. Long time highly rated and respected by collectors hard progressive with razor twin lead guitars accenting often beautiful melodies...largely underrated as they go...
Wishbone Ash's first album is a triumph of early seventies rock. It successfully merges elements of hard, folk and progressive rock to form an original compound. The album starts with the rocking but somehow stuttering "Blind Eye". The effect is almost teasing. Next up is the harder, more progressive "Whiskey Lady". This particular track is like some Atomic Rooster in some ways: the singing, some tasty, catchy, heavy riffs, longish instrumental sections and great soloing. But then it's not as dark as most Atomic Rooster and doesn't feature Vincent Crane's Hammond organ. Still, it's an excellent track and one of the favourites from these guys. This is followed by another progressive piece, "Errors of my Way". This is altogether much gentler with harmony singing giving it a distinctly folky feel. It's a lovely track, and another favourite. "Queen of Torture" is much shorter. Another harder piece about some guy whose lost his woman.
Side two features just two long tracks, (11:30) "Handy" and (10:23) "Phoenix" which are excellent long flowing hardrock tunes featuring dynamic twin guitar leads and infectious melodies...simply stunning passages involved here...
As first albums go, this one is really impressive. Lots of earthy reverb, thunderous drumming and those two beautiful lead guitars playing not only in harmony, but watch out for the time-stop gaps where they alternate between lead and rhythm.
