It's hard to conceive that another of these acetate pressings remains in existence some 32 years later, given just a few of them would have been cut to test for sound mix and/or masterplate quality. So, to find a gem like this in this condition is surely the stuff of dreams for collectors of MOD ROCK gems!!
Bid now to win this gem or, after the auction has ended, you can sit back in your chair and wonder how you managed to such a MONSTER MOD ROCK gem pass you by!!! Ask yourself when you honestly expect to see another one of these come up for sale, if ever??!!
As you'll see from the photo, this is unconditionally guaranteed to be the ORIGINAL 1980 UK 1st double-sided ACETATE pressing, so you can forget about having to settle for one of those dodgy so-called "limited vinyl re-pressings" (many of which are actually bootlegs) that are flooding the market.
A TRULY fantastic rarity, any fan of The Who, Roger Daltrey, the Mod and Rock scenes or 60s-80s music in general will simply have to have this item in their collection!!!!
Grade (labels): The grey PolyGram ACETATE labels with black print and handwritten details are in GREAT condition; the pictures tell all!
Grade (acetate): The grading of metal-based acetates is a highly subjective issue as the playing area is much softer than conventional vinyl. However, I am comfortable to assign this gem a classification of MINT minus!!! Of course, acetate pressings are by nature rather fragile and designed for just a few test plays so, in terms of their play life, do not have the 'longevity' of conventional vinyl pressings. Therefore, with the hyper-sensitivity of modern styli and amplifiers, any lucky winning bidder would need to accept an aged pressing of this type producing static here and there, particularly in the areas of the run-in and run-off deadwax. Good luck in finding another one of these nuggets......... they just do NOT turn up!!!!
Grade (company bag): This fantastic gem is housed within a plain white, straight-top bag with flipbacks in great shape (see photo)!!!
Why buy?: This is an absolute MONSTER of a MOD ROCK gem and always so incredibly sought-after in this format!! Truly a KILLINGLY RARE ITEMand VIRTUALLY IMPOSSIBLE TO FIND like this, don't miss this incredible example as it might be your only chance to buy an ORIGINAL 1980 UK 1st ACETATEpressing of "Free Me" by Roger Daltrey in incredible condition!!!
Check out my feedback and be sure of a great product and service. Happy bidding!!!
