RARE!
A wonderful 1959 release within Everest's acclaimed Certified Master series, this features Villa-Lobos at baton for both works.
The first work is his marvelous FANTASIA for an Orchestra of Cellos, here played with gusto by The Violoncello Society. And the second is a transcription of three preludes and four fugues by Villa-Lobos, from Book 1 of Bach's WELL-TEMPERED CLAVIER, a stunning piece, to be sure.
Original dowel cover has the usual edge-wear and openings all across its seams, but still remains handsome. Inside, is a master-label stout platter that should play NM- to VG+.
If you haven't yet heard any of the early Everest LPs, be sure to. They are quite, quite good. (Later pressings, save for the second press Belock platters, sound thin in comparison.)
