Description
45s: NM- Play Graded. Sounds Great!!! This is the 1982 Japanese CBS/Sony Compilation of all 15 Original 45s!!!! 12 are in Beautiful MONO!!! 30 of their best (and a few of their least well-known) releases!!! All of the labels are clean. Very hard to find Japan-only box set, from 1982 on CBS/SONY; catalog number 80SP 601-15. The set contains 15 high quality 45 rpm 7" singles, each in a glossy sleeve imprinted with song lyrics. The records play with amazing depth and presence, and all are in super, Near Mint condition, Play Graded. The first twelve singles in this set (all in mono) contain some of Simon and Garfunkel’s best songs and sound differently from stereo mixes: Namely, “The Sounds of Silence” (completely different mix from stereo vrision), “Homeward Bound” “I Am a Rock” (very different and much ballsier in mono), “A Hazy Shade of Winter” (dazzling in this single version which is even hotter sounding than the mono LP version), “Scarborough Fair”, “Mrs. Robinson”, “The Boxer” (lovely and much denser and darker than the stereo version) and “Bridge Over Troubled Water”(orchestra sound is stronger.)
Cover: EX+ Front cover has a couple scuffs on it. Includes the 20 page booklet (yes, In Japanese! The cool discography happens to be in English...) and each 45 of course, has its own dust jacket with lyrics (In English)! Has the Original obi strip in NM condition.
Goldmine Standards.
