SIMON & GARFUNKEL Bookends (CBS 63 101) Original UK Pressing MINT!
Original early UK pressing of Simon & Garfunkel`s "Bookends" on CBS Records (1968). Undoubtedly a classic of its genre, "Bookends" features a conceptual piece taking up one side of the album, as well as many songs composed for the soundtrack of "The Graduate" but left unused at the time.
"Bookends" was also one of the first records to use synthesizer effects (played by Robert Moog himself, no less), as well as the very first pop album to be recorded in Columbia Records` then all-new sixteen track studio.
Needless to say, the record with its cover photography by Richard Avedon is an all-round masterpiece, not least for containing one of the duo`s most enduring compositions, "Mrs. Robinson" (later very competently covered by The Lemonheads).
GRADING:
MINT- COVER with very light signs of record imprint (on front only). The record has a STEREO sticker on the rear (top right corner), as well as a small brownish stain. Also includes original custom-printed CBS Records inner sleeve in MINT- condition.
MINT- RECORD, looks practically unplayed. The matrix stampers in the run-off grooves read "A6" and "B1", respectively.
