PETER RENO, SIMON HASELEY - GREAT DAY. De Wolfe Records DWLP3258 UK Mono LP 1972. ORIGINAL PRESSING WITH PLAIN WHITE SLEEVE AND DE WOLFE STICKER. Condition: EX+/VG+(light surface marks, unplayed).
Heavy seventies blaxploitation action drama funk breaks themes notable for Hammerhead, Silver Thrust, Crimson, Hard Crust, Highball, Hold Back, Barracuda and Bora (used on The Sweeney TV soundtrack).
The Peter Reno composed Silver Thrust is an identical copy/cover version of Stepping Stones from the Johnny Harris Movements album with up-tempo drums, bongos and flute. The Simon Haseley composed Hammerhead was used as the backing of the Beyonce song Woman Like Me from the Pink Panther film.
