THIS IS SIR DOUGLAS QUARTET’S ORIGINAL, FIFTH ALBUM, AND BY FAR THE MOST TEX-MEX-ISH OF THEM ALL: A GENUINE PIECE OF MUSICAL HISTORY OF AMERICAN SOUTH. Sir Douglas, of course, acquired worldwide reputation for mixing the unmixable: rock , soul, blues, jazz, cajun, folk, salsa, country, boogie, dixieland, tex-mex (conjunto), even hints of gospel and pop. Creating a truly unforgettable "Russian sallad" of all tastes and styles that can be found on the American continent, Sir Douglas forged some of the most ingenious and vibrant music of this century. This album, fifth of the six he recorded at the peak of his career, for Mercury/Philips/Smash label, finds him at artistic and musical zenith. This is probably the rarest of all classic Mercury/Smash Sir Douglas Quintet albums.

(a)            WE GRADE THE VINYL AS NEAR MINT. The original luster is very much intact, and the vinyl shines and sparkles almost like new.

(b)            The record is pressed on a beautiful, thick, inflexible vinyl, which was usually used for the first or very early pressings. Usually, the sound on such thick vinyl pressings is full-bodied, vivid, and even dramatic. Do not expect to obtain such a majestic analog sound from a digital recording!

(c)             Of course, this is a full-bodied ANALOG recording, and not an inferior, digital recording!!!
