Skinnay Ennis and Orchestra
Drummer, singer and band leader Skinnay Ennis started his career in Hal Kemp's orchestra in the mid-20s. He occasionally sang on recording sessions with other bands in New York, including the California Ramblers and the Dorsey Brothers. He put together his own big band in 1938, which went on to record several dance band sides for Victor up to 1941. He was featured in the movies and kept touring throughout the 1940s and 50s.

Ennis's commercial recordings after 1941 are not listed in the jazz discographies. From Billboard magazine ads one can conclude that he recorded at least four sides for ARA, which was a Hollywood-based record label operated by Boris Morris and his son, circa 1944–1946.

Two sides of great swing by Skinnay Ennis and his orchestra like Cole Porters Love for Sale or Your Mother wore Tights etc.

 

 

These are 16" standard groove 3 mil 33 1/3 rpm discs made from black vinyl for the use in Radio Stations.

15 minutes playing time on each side, two discs give a 30 minute playing time.

  This is a single 16" disc   Condition: VERY GOOD PLUS PLUS unworn, but fine scratches , white crayon markings on record do not sound. Needs cleaning   SHIPPING 16" record:  This record cannot be combined with other records. Shipping shown is for packing between large pieces of corrugated cardboard (has worked well on over 50 such shipments in the past, however, on one shipment overseas, the a record was irreversibly bent). We can also think about shipping the record in a box, which will increase the weight.
