Very rare original US import first stereo release of the soundtrack to the film 'Slaughter On Tenth Avenue' (1958) composed by Richard Rodgers.

Music arranged by Herschel Burke Gilbert. Played by the The Universal-International Orchestra and conducted by Joseph Gershenson.

This film noir crime movie (dir. Arnold Laven, 1957) starred Richard Egan, Jan Sterling, Dan Duryea, Julie Adams, Walter Matthau, Charles McGraw and Sam Levene. The film is a story of crime on New York's waterfront. Priced to reflect rarity over condition.

Vinyl: F-G. Clean on visual inspection. Only a few tiny surface marks and scuffs across both sides. Label clean and unmarked on both sides. Played just pre-listing and sound clarity is only fair throughout. The visual belies the sound quality. Lots of surface noise – which may be eradicated after a pro clean. Still listenable but interference from surface noise is quite extensive.
Outer Sleeve (Cover): VG-EX. Colours remain unfaded and bright. Thick cardboard sleeve with original red stereo sticker in top left corner. Also pink round sticker declaring "original soundtrack". Spine clean and intact with some crinkling. Corners show buckling on aperture edge and wear. Spine corners in better shape, only lightly nicked. Edges clean and only lightly worn. Top edge has 5cm split in from aperture. Bottom edge has small central split. Reverse side is generally clean with only light foxing and some dents across credits. Handwritten ownership and number on top page. Overall a very nice copy.
Inner Sleeve: VG. Original. Original US Decca. Pink and black duotone on white paper. Minor folding and creasing. Small tear on aperture. Long central splits across both sides and spine edge. Some yellowing but otherwise clean.

MINT: The record itself is in brand new condition with no surface marks or deterioration in sound quality. The cover and any extra items such as the lyric sheet, booklet or poster are in perfect condition. Records advertised as Sealed or Unplayed should be Mint.

EXCELLENT: The record shows some signs of having been played, but there is very little lessening in sound quality. The cover and packaging might have slight wear and / or creasing.

VERY GOOD: The record has obviously been played many times, but displays no major deterioration in sound quality, despite noticeable surface marks and the occasional light scratch. Normal wear and tear on the cover or extra items, without any major defects, is acceptable.

GOOD: The record has been played so much that the sound quality has noticeably deteriorated, perhaps with some distortion and mild scratches. The cover and contents suffer from folding, scuffing of edges, spine splits, discolouration, etc.

FAIR: The record is still just playable but has not been cared for properly and displays considerable surface noise; it may even jump. The cover and contents will be torn, stained and / or defaced.

POOR: The record will not play properly due to scratches, bad surface noise, etc. The cover and contents will be badly damaged or partly missing.

BAD: The record is unplayable or might even be broken, and is only of use as a collection filler.
