Grading Record/Sleeve: VG+ / VG+EX
Record Label: Deutsche Grammophon Gesellschaft, Red stereo sleeve. Large tulips, 'Alle Hersteller' text.

Item specifics: This is a rare record from the 'SLPM', 'red stereo' series. Famous for their stereophonic sound quality and their fantastic record sleeves. These were sold at premium prices from the late 1950's and have become both rare and valuable. The record has lots of light surface marks consistent with sleeve wear, these light marks do cause a very light crackle during some passages and the odd background pop, not a major problem in itself. There is what I would describe as a light scratch across the inner half of the record on the B side, this does cause that familiar light tick which some will find offputting, I can personally ignore it and appreciate the fabulous performance. This is the earliest sleeve with the 'red stereo' insignia, very rare indeed! The sleeve has a small tear to top and bottom of spine, but still crisp and clean enough, spine is well worn. Overall I would say it is worthy of a place within a collection, it does have the problems mentioned, but at the same time it is so rare to find this performance as a first pressing, when will another come up for auction. As I write this description, my spendor speakers are really showing how wonderful this performance sounds!
As a rare item I will be expecting some interest and if the bidding rises above the £39 mark, insurance will be mandatory, but rest assured will be at cost price.
