Description
This is a 1980 box set on the HMV Melodiya label (made in Gt. Britain). The live recordings are from the Vienna Festival on 12 & 13 June 1978 and feature Yevgeny Mravinsky conducting the Leningrad Philharmonic Orchestra in 5 orchestral pieces. The box set includes a 4-page leaflet with notes on the programme by Chislett, Mason, Ottaway and Pudney. On the last page are notes on the conductor by Malcolm Walker. The inner sleeves are EMI corporate printed polythene.
The box set will be will be packaged in a Defenda LP mailer made of corrugated cardboard (no charge for this).

Condition of Discs The discs are flat and the playing surfaces are glossy and clean and look unplayed. There are no signs of "squirreling" or spindle wear around the centre holes. I have not played the discs in their entirety, but the excerpts that I have selected play beautifully. Overall, I have graded the discs conservatively as ‘Excellent+’ (Record Collector).
Condition of Box, Inner Sleeves and Leaflet The box shows clear shelf/handling wear, but no writing, tears or sticky labels. The matching inner sleeves are in Excellent condition. The leaflet has the start of some very faint foxing, but there is no writing or other damage.
