SLS 957 WAGNER Die Meistersinger KARAJAN UK Angel POSTAGE STAMP VINYL NEAR MINT
Wagner, Die Meistersinger von Nurnberg.
Adam - Donath - Evans - Hesse - Keleman - Kollo - Riddersbusch - Schreier.Karajan and the Dresden State Orchestra.
Original circa 1971 UK pressed EMI Angel Series stereo five LP box set with booklet insert, SLS 957.
Individual LPs are also catalogued as SAN 292 to 296.
All LPs are yellow label with Nipper postage stamp at 12 o'clock as pictured.
Vinyl near mint. Hardly any spider trail activity visible around the spindle areas and the labels are fresh and bright. Playing surfaces still have an as new sheen and are free of marks.
Booklet EX, includes libretto.
External box at least VG++, and far better preserved than is the norm. The SLS series stands alone in having textured matt boxes which are notoriously prone to rubbing whitening and shelving wear. Very seldom does a box turn up in truely clean mint condition. This one has just a touch of darkening and staining to the mostly white exterior, but all of this light and unobtrusive. Structurally in great shape with no wear or seam splits to edges and joints. There is a closed tear to the paper covering at the head of the spine. This appears to be as issued, as the paper material is not actually raised or torn away here. The split is hairline and tidy, and not obtrusive.
