Impossibly rare acetate/test 45 by a guy called "Sly Dog"...on the obscure Rambler label. Guessing it's a 70s pressing....or possibly late 60s. This one is a real pleasant surprise....both of the tracks are pretty good! One track has a slow country rock feel...but is broken up by two upbeat/funky passages with some nice guitar work. The flip side has a similar country rock feel but is more upbeat/funky the whole way through. Again, some nice guitar work and a nice harmonica solo.
Rambler records were as tiny private label based in the Frankston/Mt Eliza area of Victoria's Mornington Peninsula. All of their releases were very limited....usually 50 or 100 I'm told. However...this record was possibly never actually released...and may be only the only one in existence! I have no idea who Sly Dog was but I'm guessing probably a local muso. Perhaps you know him...or it's you??!! Shame, as mentioned both of the tracks are really good!
Record is Good....has several light marks and surface scratches...plays with light but constant background noise. This was quite dirty when I found it so sound quality may improve after a thorough clean and a few plays.
Labels are Good...tracks written in pencil and labels have some obvious wear.
Great for a collector of rare Australian music! Unlikely to ever see this again!!!!
