I am parting with some of my treasured LPs. Here's a first UK MONO pressing of THE SMALL FACES LP from 1967, IN THE BEGINNING. This was the second LP that Small Faces would release, and was not released in America until a CD version was printed in 1996. This LP LK4879 has the;
- Original UK mono release on red 'unboxed' Decca labels.
Released in a sleeve laminated on front only with 'Clarifoil'

While this LP has been re mastered and re presses at a lower cost, there is simply nothing like the sound from this first mono Decca pressing. It's a coveted LP for the right collection. This is a compilation LP, that Decca released as the band was headed for another label. Decca decided to capitalize on this release while they were still signed, and this LP has the best songs from their first LP along with other songs recorded but not released prior. The UK FLIP BACK cover shows a small bend at top right, and some a ding to the bottom left corner. Some wear on front cover close to the spine and a touch of the cello is pulling off on bottom right corner. The spine is perfect, but with a pinch at the bottom where there was a corner ding. The LP shows spindle wear on side 2 and there is a mark on the label of side 2. It's a somewhat hard LP to grade because while the LP plays and sounds NM, there are visible fingerprints and a couple hairlines. This LP comes with the ORIGINAL INNER.
If you want to know the kind of influence The Small Faces had, just ask Robert Plant, who all but stole Steve Marriott's vocal stylings. Along with other mod bands like The Who, The Pretty Things, and The Zombies, they were in their element on stage. It's a rare LP, and not easy to come by in great condition like this.
I love original pressings because I feel every LP is of it's time and place. The vinyl, and record pressings are all from that moment in time, and no re-pressing or re-mastering will ever make the sound better for me. PLEASE CHECK OUT MY OTHER LPS FOR SALE NOW ON EBAY. SS = (STILL SEALED) The record itself is in brand new condition, assumed never to have been played.
M = (MINT) The record itself is in brand new condition with no surface marks or deterioration in sound quality. The cover and any extra items such as the lyric sheet,
booklet or poster are in perfect condition. Records advertised as Sealed or Unplayed should be Mint.
M - = (MINT MINUS) MINT- is not MINT but is very close to it, near new, there might be a blemish or two, but overall record and jacket are like new or very close to new.
EX = (EXCELLENT) The record shows some signs of having been played, but there is very little lessening in sound quality. The cover and packaging might have slight
wear and / or creasing.
VG = (VERY GOOD) The record has obviously been played many times, but displays no major deterioration in sound quality, despite noticeable surface marks and the
occasional light scratch. Normal wear and tear on the cover or extra items, without any major defects, is acceptable.
G = (GOOD) The record has been played so much that the sound quality has noticeably deteriorated, perhaps with some distortion and mild scratches. The cover and
contents suffer from folding, scuffing of edges, spine splits, discoloration, etc.
F = (FAIR) The record is still just playable but has not been cared for properly and displays considerable surface noise; it may even jump. The cover and contents will
be torn, stained and / or defaced.
P = (POOR) The record will not play properly due to scratches, bad surface noise, etc. The cover and contents will be badly damaged or partly missing.
B = (BAD) The record is unplayable or might even be broken, and is only of use as a collection filler
