PLEASE READ. Superclean original first vinyl pressing from 1978....and with original RED INSERT. It's not the easier to find black & white insert. All in all 500 records of the original first pressing were made. The first 200 were born in a steel cover made of two heavy plates, and all these 200 records were numbered. The other 300 records were issued without a sleeve. This is one of the sleeveless records, these are un-numbered. But the previous owner made a handmade record sleeve to go with it. He took aluminum foil, stuck it over a record sleeve and attached the red insert with black tape and wrote on the back: HAPPY BIRTHDAY TO THE MAUER.... Issued on the ‘Ignition’ label in 1978. This legendary punk sampler is a milestone in GERMAN PUNK HISTORY. You are bidding on the rare S.O.36 compilation from Berlin. At that time the legendary SO 36 club was run by Kippi aka Martin Kippenberger. All these tracks were recorded live at the S.O. 36 on the 13th of August in 1978. On exactly the 17th anniversary, of the construction, of the BERLIN WALL. The reason why this sampler is sooo hard to find is pretty simple: all in all, 9 bands appear on this record and usually each band has 4-5 band members plus a roadie and a ‘manager’. Meaning each band could have taken 6-7 records, so 50-70, or more, of these 500 comps are still in the hands of the bands....and therefore, only just over, 430 records could be in circulation. This masterpiece features the powerful stomper ‘Polizei’ by MALE. You can listen to ‘Marmor Stein Und Eisen Bricht’ / ‘1979 Deutschland’ and two more tracks by MITTAGSPAUSE. The two songs by PVC include the excellent ‘No Escape’. Also appearing on this essential release are S.Y.P.H, FFURS, STUKA-PILOTS, DUB-LINERS and DIN A TESTBILD. For your information only: the 300 sleeveless records were distributed by Hamburg’s first Punk Record Shop Rip Off. As you know, Rip Off owner Claus Maeck is now the manager of EINSTÜRZENDE NEUBAUTEN and a pretty famous film producer. Don’t miss this true masterpiece. I will not grade the handmade sleeve. The scans show you the condition.
