CAB CALLOWAY AND HIS ORCHESTRA had a much-deserved reputation for hotness, but on this 1930 record, they went far above and beyond the call of duty:
"SOME OF THESE DAYS" and "IS THAT RELIGION?"
Relentless, thrashing, unbridled, up-tempo, over-the-top - I give up! Words can't possibly convey the killer excitement and deadly precision embedded in every second of this unbelievable performance of "Some of These Days." Cab never equalled it (though some of the pre-Cab Missourians Victors approach it), and I daresay nobody else did, either. It's my candidate for the hottest record of all time.
"IS THAT RELIGION?" on the flip isn't slouchy, either. It's Cab in preaching mode, which suits him perfectly. There's a whole sanctified chorus on this, who add immeasurably to the excitement, and of course, more of this fantastic, exciting band.

This original 1930 Brunswick 6020 is in splendid, clean E condition.

These records come from my private collection, which I have been accumulating since 1967, and now am downsizing! My highest priority in these eBay auctions is to give you the best possible idea of a record’s true condition and aesthetic value. I always post at least four clear images, showing the record fore and aft, a close-up of the label, and the whole disc, warts and all. If my purple prose won’t cut it, the pictures will! Shipping is done with expert care. Your record will brave Media Mail in a stout corregated box, between four sheets of cardboard and a couple of “packers.” I hope you are amused by these descriptions, and by the quality of service being offered.
