"Nowadays, there are very few references that are able to immerse us within an authentic and pure sound. Honestly speaking, Son Los Grillos are able to achieve this without presumption. They have made a delightful album rich in colors, brushes and texture. In their homonymous debut album they present an impressive number of beautiful songs that touch on folk, celtic roots and a range of cultural influences capturing and transporting the listener to experience an array of sensations and emotions.
Aged guitars, banjos, cellos, mandolins, all types of percussion, vocal harmonies combined with the beautiful tone of Marta’s voice, all skillfully achieve a rich blend of lyrics and melody. They offer pure acoustics, with the accompaniment of the electric guitar and touches of bass; this twosome shows that there is neither a need for a big budget nor enormous studies to be able to create wonderful songs. It is noteworthy to mention an adaptation for this occasion, of a devotional Hindu text sung in its original Sanscrit language, "Bahjan". Son Los Grillos sound as nature in harmony, reflecting ones search for peace. They sound sincere and as I have said before, they sound pure and delightful. And indeed they are.
The covers have been crafted in a totally artesian way with recycled cardboard. The tree picture is a serigraphy impressed and watercolor painted by hand one by one so each record is different and unique. 180 gr. Vinyl. Insert included. 500 copies each one hand-numbered."
