Sonic Youth “Dirty” LP Version - Australian only Pack

Up for grabs is the scarce limited edition cotton sleeve pack released by Waterfront Records, Sydney under licence through Geffen. The release was strictly limited to a 1000 copies. This issue was similar to the RARE Nirvana “Bleach” green vinyl cloth cover release through Waterfront Records.

This special Aussie only Sonic Youth “Dirty” pack was authorised by the band for release in Australia only and is complete – nothing is missing.

It contains the following:

• Double platter of orange coloured vinyl.

• Bonus track “Stalker” only available on the vinyl version.

• Includes full colour promo poster.

• Exclusive 2 full colour band photos.

• 5 page multi coloured band bio penned by Thurston Moore detailing each of the songs on the album in additional to the extra track “Stalker”.

• Exclusively housed in a 2 colour double sided unbleached screen printed cotton sleeve. This copy comes in the green hand prints & red writing cloth sleeve. (There were two different coloured cloth covers [green hand prints with red writing & red hand prints with green writing all on white background]. I understand there were 500 of each cloth sleeve variation).

I am selling this on behalf of Chris Dunn former co-owner of Waterfront Records. A signed note of authenticity can be provided on request from the buyer confirming this copy comes from his personal collection.

What also makes this auction special is that a scanned photo copy of the rare original full page (A3) Waterfront Records music news press advert for this release will be included. It details the official contents of the vinyl issue for this scarce Aussie only release together with the “CD version”. Yes there was a CD counterpart.  While reference is made to the Aussie release on Sonic Youth’s official web site, it appears to lack full details.

This exclusive pack is hard to find intact. Here’s a unique chance to get the complete vinyl pack plus a copy of the original release ad from the former co-owner of Waterfront Records who is willing to accept what a Sonic Youth fan is prepared to pay.

Condition

The whole package is in great nick. The cloth cover; album sleeves; 5 page bio; 2 band photos; and vinyl are in Near Mint condition.  The poster is in very good condition. Please note there’s some general crinkling around the poster and a small stain at its bottom edge, but there's no tears or pin holes. It came folded in the package & will be folded once again along the same creases. The A3 release ad will also be folded in the centre & all will be posted together.
