Sonics Boom Etiquette ET-ALBS-027
Second lp from this band rightly dubbed the first punk rock band, fully a dozen years before punk rock as a movement came to be. Has to be heard to be believed, and then reheard in the context of its time (1966). Sloppy, crude, brutal music from a time when such things didn’t happen, and featuring the most over-the-top vocals you’ve ever heard: imagine Little Richard fueled on meth and jet fuel! This lp (I think their best) features many of their classics: “Shot Down”, “He’s Waitin’”, “Cinderella”, and a version of “Louie Louie” so cranked up and whacked out that they don’t even play the right chord sequence, and here’s the killer: their chords IMPROVE THE SONG! The first lp to go to 11...
This is the original stereo issue. Disc is only VG with lots of hairline scuffs but nothing deep and it plays beautifully. Sounds great except during the quiet parts, but there are no quiet parts. Cover has a bit of ring and general wear, bottom seam is half split.
After a hiatus, during which we moved and built our Permanentrecords library/vault/watering hole, we are finally up and running as an Ebay seller again. Welcome back to all our old friends and hello to new ones. We’re going to try things a bit differently this time. We will still feature great, rare, obscure, strange and little-known vinyl, but we’ve decided on no reserves and a very low opening bid on even the choicest stuff. We’re hoping that this will keep you coming back to us for the chance at some genuine bargains and maybe even steals, as we allow each item to find its natural price.
