Offered for your consideration is this original 1960 copy of "Down And Out Blues" by Sonny Boy Williamson.This is an original Checker black and silver label mono copy of Checker LP-1437 and NOT a reissue. Rice Miller (Sonny Boy Williamson) was born in Glendora, Mississippi in 1912.  He got into blues music at an early age. When the original Sonny Boy Williamson (1914-1948) died prematurely, Rice changed his name to Sonny Boy Williamson.  It is still rumoured that Rice has something to do with the original Sonny Boy's demise. He started recording for Trumpet Records in 1951. In 1955, he signed with Checker Records. He passed on in 1965.

The vinyl is visually graded a strong VG+ with a few very short and light skate marks which you really need to search for.  The labels are clean with a hint of spindle marks. The inner sleeve is generic and assumed to be original to the package. The cover is a strong VG+ with no splits, writing, or other issues. The shelf wear is minimal as is the seam wear. Overall, a really nice copy of a fairly rare 50 year old blues record! I tend to grade conservatively. You won't be disappointed.

So, if this will fill a gap in that early and increasingly hard to find blues collection of yours, why not toss in a bid, because it's being offered at a reasonable opening and NO RESERVE!!
