SONNY ROLLINS “Newk’s Time” FIRST PRESSING Blue Note BLP 4001 Mono Vinyl
This is the 1959, First Edition, "RVG" stamped, Deep Groove, Laminated Cover, P-pressing of SONNY ROLLINS’ “Newk’s Time” on the “47 West 63rd” labels of Blue Note BLP 4001. Musicians include Sonny Rollins – tenor saxophone, Wynton Kelly – piano (1-3, 5-6), Doug Watkins – bass (1-3, 5-6), Philly Joe Jones – drums.
VINYL plays very well, with only intermittent light pops and ticks behind the music. No distortion. Good gloss. A few hairline marks, and three long marks on Side 2, #2 that can be felt. The Deep Groove "47 West 63rd” labels are clean. See photos.
LAMINATED MONO COVER is in Good shape, corners worn. Seams and spine in good shape, spine taped 2” from top, some cracking on seams. "BLUE NOTE RECORDS, 47 West 63rd St., New York 23" back jacket shows wear. Please see photos.
