Description
Blue Note Records BLP 1558, this is an original mono pressing of the seminal Sonny Rollins LP "Vol. 2". Rollins is joined on these sesions by Horace Silver, Jay jay Johnson, Thelonius Monk, Paul Chambers, & Art Blakey. This pressing has the 47 West 63rd NYC address notation on the labels, with the "deep groove" on both sides, in addition to "RVG" and the infamous "ear" symbol etched in the dead wax. There is NO registered mark under the "E" in "Blue Note". Heavy laminated cover is beautiful NM-; theonly flaws are a 1" split on the bottom edge where the cover may have been dropped at one point,a 1/2" indentation on the spine, and a hint of wear to the lower right corner. Vinyl is also shiny and clean NM-; there are no scratches or scuffs, just a few faint paper marks on either side visible under a 75 watt light. Playback is strong throughout. Blue and white labels are crisp with just a hint of spindle wear. By far the best original of this one I have come across. Buyer pays $6.50 shipping in the US, $13.00 airmail overseas.
