Title:   “The Sound of Sonny”

Label:   RIVERSIDE.  Monaural pressing on medium weight vinyl, with deep groove.  Label is white with pale blue reels and logo, with black text.  Catalog number is RLP 12-241. 

Year:  1957.

Personnel: 

Sonny Rollins – tenor sax

Sonny Clark – piano

Percy Heath or Paul Chambers – bass

Roy Haynes - drums.

Condition: 

DISC:  Vinyl retains 100% of original gloss, has been played a small number of times and handled with care.  Grades nice VG+ to VG++ with some minor hairline scuffs.  There are a few very soft tics, but no serious marks or problems.  Fidelity is excellent.  Labels are clean.  A very fine playing copy of this essential jazz classic.            

JACKET:  Jacket is nice VG+ with no major problems.   Laminated front panel is clean and bright, with some minor traces of ring wear.  Nice top and bottom seams, but spine has some chipping along the length (no splits).  Reverse has darkened a bit with age, particularly around the edges.  No writing or stickers.  Overall a very presentable jacket to accompany the fine disc.
