SONNY STITT SITS IN WITH THE OSCAR PETERSON TRIO – VERVE MGV 8344 – TRUMPET – VG+ - MONO
Recorded in Paris on May 18, 1959, this session features Sonny Stitt on alto and tenor, Oscar Peterson on piano, Ray brown on bass and Ed Thigpen on drums. SIDE A: I CAN’T GIVE YOU ANYTHING BUT LOVE; AU PRIVAVE; THE GYPSY; I’LL REMEMBER APRIL and SCRAPPLE FROM THE APPLE. SIDE B: MOTEN SWING; BLUES FOR PREZ, SWEETS, BEN AND ALL THE OTHER FUNKY ONES and EASY DOES IT.
I’ve rated this as VG+. The vinyl on Side B has a mark on cut #3, but it does not interfere with play. Side A looks clean. There are some marks around the spindle hole, but not much wear. The cover is in very good condition, except that the top right seam has been taped. There is some discoloration on the cover, as it’s mostly white. Someone rated this with 3 ½ stars…..I’d give it a 4 star rating! The label is a Trumpet. This is a Mono recording.
