I've been putting together this selection of Salsa singles over the last several years, ranging from classic Fania tracks, privately-released 'Holy Grails', obscure titles, and a few that are possibly being auctioned here for the first time. NOTES: Holy grail! Possibly never before seen, no information on this release online! Insanely rare Sonora Ponceña 45 on the Montilla label. Likely released in the mid-60s shortly before La Ponceña signed with Inca Records, this single pairs the swinging Guaracha "El Chivo Pepe" (about the legendary goat from Ponce known to drink and womanize!) sung by a very young Luigi Texidor. The B-side is a Bolero, "Tu Moriras Conmigo" with Papo and Luigi singing. The labels incorrectly list the bandleader as Quique Lucas (should be 'Lucca'!) with hand-written annotations and corrections, possibly indicating this copy was owned by a band member or close associate of the group! This is your chance to own a long-forgotten piece of Salsa history! Check out the soundclip - don't miss this one!
