Description
The Sons of the Pioneers sing Cowboy Classics -- their first ever album! -- on original 1948 RCA 4-78 album set P-168. This is the first issue of this album, later to come out on LP and 45 set. They do a lot of their most famous songs here, like Cool Water and Tumbling Tumbleweeds, and it is that fantastic era with the Farr Brothers on fiddle and guitar. A really great piece of country music history (well, western music history, to be more exact). The discs are in a nice VG+ condition , with some scuffs but really only surface ones, which don't affect the play much at all. I played all 8 sides and they play beautifully with very little noise. Lots of luster and clear grooves. The cover is really lovely, with only minimal shelfwear. The original paper padding is still inside and the record sleeves inside are almost like new. The spine is intact and the binding is fine. A great copy.
