This is an ORIGINAL 1961 U.S. SAR RECORDS 12" LP titled 'Jesus Be A Fence Around Me', containing twelve gospel tracks produced by Sam Cooke by Sam's original gospel group The Soul Stirrers. It is Sar Records U.S. catalog number LPM-501. The Sar Records label was owned by Sam Cooke.

Condition of record is a high VG with some surface and sleeve marks which cannot be felt and will not affect play, and a couple of tiny pinpoint size scratches which can barely be felt and which may cause a few slight ticks, necessitating the VG grading. Record has a very slight slow warp near its outer edge which also has absolutely no effect on play. Labels have some writing in blue marker. Condition of cover is VG with flaking and splits along the top edge and top of the spine (I have carefully and neatly repaired these spits by taping from the inside), some wrinkles, a little writing on the back cover in blue marker, some contact wear, and some wear along the edges and on the corners. Cover has no water damage, tears, or stickers. This RARE LP would be a nice addition to any Sam Cooke-related or gospel / soul record collection! Media mail postage within the U.S. is $4.00.
