SOUTHERN COMFORT
Unseen two-tone labelled factory sample of this mega rare blues LP (UK London LP in Stereo.) Featuring members of Mighty Baby and Martin Stone of Savoy Brown fame this really great blues LP is crowned by a 13 minute Raga based Psychedelic jam. A real treat.
“Recorded when legendary Chicago blues harp player Walter ‘Shakey’ Horton visited the UK in 1968, Southern Comfort is a superb showcase for his talent, as well as those of bassist Jerome Arnold (Butterfield Blues Band), drummer Jessie C. Lewis (Otis Rush) and trailblazing guitarist Martin Stone (Savoy Brow and Mighty Baby). Though mostly a classy blues set, however, it's best-known today for the epic closing track - one of the most mind-blowing psychedelic workouts ever recorded.”

GRADING
SLEEVE: VG+
The sleeve would grade as EX or better if it weren’t for a nick to the front of the sleeve at the opening edge (see pictures). The laminated front surface is lovely and clean with no wrinkles or damage and just some very slight ring wear. Similarly, the unlaminated rear is very nice with no wear whatsoever. The edges are really sharp and straight with the spine being perfect.
RECORD: EX+
There are a couple of very light hairlines but that’s it. The entire record looks superb. The record has been fully play tested. Wow. Sounds as new. Superb.
The above record grading is based on Record Collector magazine system:
MINT: The record itself is in brand new condition with no surface marks or deterioration in sound quality. The cover and any extra items such as the lyric sheet, booklet or poster are in perfect condition. Records advertised as Sealed or Unplayed should be Mint.
EXCELLENT: The record shows some signs of having been played, but there is very little lessening in sound quality. The cover and packaging might have slight wear and/or creasing.
VERY GOOD: The record has obviously been played many times, but displays no major deterioration in sound quality, despite noticeable surface marks and the occasional light scratch. Normal wear and tear on the cover or extra items, without any major defects, is acceptable.
