THE SPARKLES-45-"The Hip" b/w "Oh Girls Girls"-Hickory Records #45-1364-Cool 1966 Austin, Texas Garage-Punk. A side is totally Paul Revere & The Raiders "Louie Go Home" R&B-ish Garage Punk-gutteral lead vocals, obviously ripping off Mark Lindsay. Great primitive lead guitar break. B side is kind of weird...sounds like "Donna Donna the primadonna" crossed with Roy Orbison's "Pretty Woman" with garage overtones!! Singer sounds like he's trying to emulate Roy Orbison at times. Comes with original HICKORY stock sleeve... Condition: Record is MINT-Minus with exception of 2 little pin-point sized white dots in the pressing on 'Girls' side, as well as 2 little white dots on the 'Hip' side-no abrasion, visually in certain light angles there is no physical visual abrasions...it's just IN the pressing and doesn't affect play or anything-almost unnoticeable and looks like 2 dust specks... Label clean on both sides ...
