Here are the classic 1962 performances of two fabulous Russian ballets, GAYANEH and SPARTACUS, played by the Vienna Philharmonic Orchestra with composer Aram Khachaturian at baton.
Among ballets that have made audiophile lists around the world, this is among the very best…the Vienna going full bore, the works simply delivering a drama not often afforded music lovers in the listening, save during "live" performances. Simply great, exciting, definitive sound here, first note to last.
This is the best rendition of these performances that I know of, the Decca heavy-platter, audiophile issue, here in a cover like new, well-cut record within will play near mint.
Strap into your listening chair for this one…it's a beauty!
