Description

Coo, Coon, Coon

Len Spencer, vocal; Vess Ossman, banjo

Victor Monarch 3375, (on label), renumbered in matrix as 817.  (1 10" single sided 78 rpm)

Pre-matrix. No take number, therefore -1

Recorded May 17, 1901, probably in Philadelphia.  Announced. The date can be read through the label.

E- Pretty evenly worn, only a few light visible scratches. Better condition than usually found for records in this earliest 10" series.  Less visible surface damage than most pressings of this period. I played this with a 2.5 mil stylus and suspect that experimentation with different sized ones will bring the surface noise down some.

Label is in great shape.  There is an oval spot, brighter than the rest of the label, where it appears the renumbered sticker that said 817 had been affixed, now lacking.

The very politically incorrect lyrics can be found on line.

Shipping $ 4.00 to the U.S., elsewhere by ocation.
